The X-Grip in the slightly smaller version for small and medium smartphones is recommended if you generally prefer smaller devices. However, most other phones also fit. It also works with your favorite case or without a case; you don’t have to buy any special accessories for it. No adjustment or the like. For rough applications on motorcycles or mountain bikes, you should use the included tension band. It does not interfere with operation because it only covers the corners. A big plus: The holder can be adjusted on the adjustable arm to the optimal viewing and operating angle. This is a real advantage on long tours.
However, the X-Grip holder can also have disadvantages: If you take breaks quite often and like to quickly take out and reattach the phone, the winding of the tension band can be annoying, especially with gloves. If this plays a big role for you, we recommend the RAM Quick Grip (for example RAM-B-149Z-A-PD4U). With it, the phone is simply slid in with one hand. It doesn’t get faster than that.
